It's been 3 years since I last posted, I've purposefully not been posting through the pandemic but it's time to get back to it.
The reasons for not posting are not at all sinister, I've just been extremely busy throughout – for which I’m hugely grateful.
I'm going to keep this as short as I can, just some quick updates and significant dates I'd like to share with you, with longer, more in-depth posts happening more frequently in future months.
Neil Wilkin & Rachael Woodman
Firstly, this Saturday, the 16th July will be the PV/Opening of Neil Wilkin & Rachael Woodman’s Exhibition Harvest: Fruit Gathering at the always fantastic Ruthin Craft Centre. I know there’s a heatwave on its way but jump in your car, wind up the air conditioning and get yourself over to the Craft Centre on Saturday if you can, it’s going to be an incredible show.
I’ve been fortunate to be able to shoot for Neil and Rachael quite a bit over the last few years, both masters of their craft, their work is delicate yet powerful, colourful yet serene and stretches the medium, far beyond what we think is possible with glass.
If you can’t make it on Saturday, the exhibition runs until 25th September.
Growing
Back in 2018, I made a short film with artist Gareth Brindle Jones about identity and masculinity. After its initial successful showing, with world events as they were, the film was temporarily shelved.
On the 17th September, Growing makes a return at Moma Machynlleth for two months. The film is accompanied by original painted works along with installations inspired by the film.
David Nash
I’m currently working with sculptor David Nash, on a long-term project documenting many hundreds of his sculptural wooden forms at his chapel gallery in North Wales.
It’s an incredible privilege to be able to shoot there, the sheer scale and volume of work is breathtaking. Once completed, I’ll post some final images here on the blog.
